Ayuko Kaneta

Founder / Director of Ballet Studio O

Studied under Kazuhiro Kaneta and Kyoko Kono.

Received numerous awards including the Grand Prize, First Place, and Special Jury Prize at various ballet competitions both in Japan and abroad.

Performed the leading role in the opening ceremony of the Nagano Paralympics.

In 1998, studied at the Hamburg Ballet School.Joined the Hong Kong Ballet the following year.After returning to Japan, actively worked as a dancer and choreographer.


Notable Performances:

  • Score and Landscape, Oups 131 — Choreographed by Alessio Silvestrin (Performed at the Lausanne Gala and Architanz performances)

  • Courage, Body — Choreographed by Toru Shimazaki (Human Gate)

Also performed leading roles in works by many renowned choreographers, including Young Soon, Sung Yong Kim, Haruka Ueda, Kaori Kagaya, and Kazuhiro Kaneta.

Appeared in Cirque du Soleil’s ZED.


Choreographic Works:Received numerous awards for choreographies presented at various competitions, including the Japan Grand Prix, NBA Competition, and Youth America Grand Prix.

  • 2009 Youth America Grand Prix:First Place Grand Prize for the choreography SHADOW.

  • 2016 Youth America Grand Prix:Third Place for the choreography cosmos.

Registered dancer for the dance magazine DDD.

Invited as a guest artist from overseas for performances organized by the NPO Center for the Promotion and Creation of Arts and Culture.

Also active as a choreographer for international film festivals, commercials, and hair shows.

Performs and creates as part of UNIT SEEK with Maki Morita.

In 2017, founded KKA DANCE DESIGN.

Since 2019:Has appeared in Hiroto’s Show, hosted by Hiroto Natori, from Vol.5 onwards,and performed the leading role in the New York performance of Vol.10 Amaterasu: The Descent of the Dance.

In 2022:Performed as the character Megera in the Japan Ballet Association's production of La Esmeralda.

Serves as a judge at competitions such as the Flap Ballet Competition and YBC Ballet Competition.
